Jungfraujoch

Caught the train from Wengen up the mountain to Kleine Scheidegg, then changed onto the Jungfraubahn.

It started off sunny but we wore longo pantos ready for the snow…

There were two viewing stops on the way up: five minutes to get off in the tunnel then look out the window over the mountainside.

At the top (a bit like the Hoth base in the Empire Strikes back), we had hot chocolates and surreptitiously ate our ham and cheese sandwiches… and watched the clouds roll in!

First we went to the Ice Palace – carved out of the glacier itself, with sculptures and a small tunnel – The best bit for J and M I think!

Next we went up and out onto the glacier top – although it was a bit scary with J and M… and a giant drop!

Brrrr

Coming back down, the cloud followed us; Wengen was all grey and it actually started to rain as we walked back to our chalet. Dinner was cooked in the apartment and went down well with the children: pasta bolognaise!
