20/08/08 Bellagio

After rain in the night, it’s been hot! hot! hot!

Played at the beach with the new ‘Hello Kitty’ bucket and spade set and J and M were in heaven, just sorting stones and pouring water, and would’ve stayed all day. The three local maidens with one painting her nails were a fascination to Madeleine, and I (mostly) had to look away every time one of them kept bending over ;-)

Early morning splash

We stayed in the apartment for lunch (in the shade): an original home-cooked dish featuring spaghetti and tomatoes.

Catherine’s Melissa sorted out our one night in Zurich: we’re in the Novotel on Friday night, rather than leave here at silly o’ clock on Saturday.

Later in the afternoon we went to Bellagio for lots of ice cream—Catherine scored an ace with her parking and James and Madeleine played in the park up the hill.

Italian icecream, Italian grafitti

We found presents and a t-shirt for James and a blue (She chose it!) dress for Madeleine.

Someone familiar in the shadows

Bellagio is beautiful but cobbled and hilly, so we were all pooped after a couple of hours. A dinner in a pavement cafe and home for shower and bed.
