I started programming in C (Yes, started : Did a course at Manchester University), have done a tiny bit of ASP, a bit more PHP, and more recently Perl… but then along comes Ruby…
Here are the links, anyway:
- The book (Poignant Guide’s one with the foxes)
http://poignantguide.net/ruby/chapter-3.html#section3 - Windows Download
- Ruby Central
- Try Ruby in a browser
http://tryruby.hobix.com/
And Explanations about why they’ve changed
Also, in the same way there is XAMPP for pre-configured Apache/ PHP/ MySQL , there is a bundled distribution of Ruby / Rails / MySQL at InstantRails and a tutorial at O’Reilly’s ONLamp
Anyway, once it’s up and running locally, Ruby on Rails is available at http://127.0.0.1:3000/
