Specifically on Tiger (10.4)

I started off with Patrick Lenz’s Build Your Own Ruby on Rails Web Applications, and then fell on one of the first hurdles… so then found a great tutorial at Hivelogic

Then in turn led me to require a Mac text editor, so went with TextWrangler – it’s free and has a nice manual, too

Only snag is trying to find the hidden .bash_login file requires yet another step, fortunately detailed at facetsquared
